What does a PT treatment look like?

Your physical therapy visit will begin with a one hour comprehensive evaluation with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. This will include measurements of strength, flexibility, balance, and assessment of specific movement patterns. We will evaluate all aspects of your pain to determine the root cause of the issue. This process will help determine a plan of care for your current injury and prevent future pain. On day 1, you will be provided with the tools necessary to begin relieving pain and restoring function. All treatment and exercises will be based on our diagnosis with your goals in mind.

Follow up visits will be utilized to alleviate further pain and progress exercise to improve long-term function.

How can i benefit from performance PT?

Anyone dealing with an acute injury, injury related to sport, or nagging pain from daily activities will benefit from PT! We will help guide your recovery from injuries and chronic pain, while also improving performance within your sport or daily life.

An evaluation from a physical therapist can be useful for anyone, injury or not, to get a baseline of strength, flexibility, and movement patterns. We can identify areas of limitation that lead to poor movement and biomechanics. An individualized treatment program will decrease your pain faster and improve performance more efficiently.

After your pain resolves, continual “check ups” with your physical therapist can also reduce risk of future injury and help maintain a high level of activity.
