Frequently Asked Questions

  • No, you do not need a referral to see a physical therapist in New York State. Anyone is able to be evaluated and treated by a PT for 30 days/10 visits. If additional visits are required we can easily contact your physician to obtain a referral.

  • At Drive Physical Therapy, we are a cash-based, out of network provider. As a result, we do not directly take your health insurance.

We believe the insurance model does not allow us to spend enough time with you and receive the treatment we feel you deserve.

We charge each visit up front and will provide a bill to present to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many clients receive partial, and up to 100%, reimbursement from their insurance, but we cannot guarantee reimbursement at time of service.

This model allows us to spend more time with patients, providing 1 on 1 treatments. Longer treatment times allow for quality care and fewer visits. At other insurance based practices, you may end up paying a co-pay for 3 visits per week over 6-8 weeks. At Drive PT, you may be seen 1-2 times per week for 4-6 weeks. Ultimately, you spend less time at PT and save money long-term after considering deductibles, co-pays, and the need for more visits.

  • Yes, you may use your HSA/FSA account for physical therapy services. Simply bring your card in to provide payment at the time of service.

  • Bring a photo ID and any relevant medical paperwork. Wear athletic/loose fitting clothing that you will be able to move around in.

  • Our appointments are scheduled for 60 minutes. We do not double book or overlap patient appointments in order to provide exclusive 1 on 1 care.
